A unique multi-experience tourism destination, the Desert Islands, being developed off Abu Dhabi's western coastline, is the culmination of the rich natural heritage and eco-vision of the UAE’s late President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Desert Islands comprises the former Royal nature reserve of Sir Bani Yas Island, Dalma Island and the Discovery Islands – six nearby offshore outcrops, all of which will be linked by a ferry and hydrofoil service, water taxis, private ‘resort’ boat service and regional and sea planes. The overall sustainability strategy of Desert Islands is being developed jointly by TDIC and Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Government’s new advanced energy and sustainability initiative. The Discovery Islands and their surrounding seas, rich in marine life, are aimed at being a world class example of environmental conservation and ecological tourism.

In conclusion, I think this project is good because it takes care for Animals, plants and the life there. But, I think the project will help to reduce global warming because one of the companies that will develop the island is Masdar company.

My opinion about the "an inconvenient truth video"

I think video was Excellent and great. In my opinion, the movie was scientific because it talked about serious problem and many facts. Overall, now I will talk about the reasons that support my opinion.

I think this film is not political and it is one of the most important films. Al Gore introduced the facts and figures of global warming that contribute to destroy our planet. Also, he explains the meaning of global warming by many ways such as: cartoon and picture to all people like adults and also children to increase their knowledge and to work hard in the future. In my opinion, we all should work together to avoid and say no to global warming.

In conclusion, Increase the temperature affects our planet by hurricanes, increases in sea level and melting icecaps. If this increasing in temperature degrees is continuing, our lives will be in danger because that means there will be many disasters around us. But if we do something to control global warming our planet and our lives will be fine.

Summary of "An inconvenient truth video"

The video by Al Gore talked about global warming and its effects. This video is called “An inconvenient truth “. In short, I’m going to talk about the video’s ideas and facts.

According to the documentary, Al Gore was Vice- president of the USA. He introduced his movie about global warming and its effects and how to save our world. Firstly, he started his movie with beautiful tones, sounds of birds and some beautiful landscapes such as: trees and rivers. Then, he explained about the atmospheric layers and their benefits. Also, he explained why the atmospheric layers have resulted in harm to the earth nowadays and the causes of that. The documentary includes figures about the earth’s temperature and the CO2 concentration at atmospheric layers. In addition, the northern hemisphere has the vast majority of land mass and vegetation. .This means that it has more potential to be flooded and to be polluted. Moreover, glaciers are melting around the world and there are some pictures in movie to show the differences between nowadays and the past. More than 40% of people around the world drink water from rivers that comes from melt water. In the next half century, these 40% will face a serious shortage because of this melting. Also global warning effects ocean by stronger storms, increase sea level and ice melting. Also the documentary includes three factors that contribute to the collision between our civilization and the earth such as population, new technologies and our way of thinking.

In conclusion, although some scientists dispute some of the statistics, Gore’s video has won awards and is very influential. Also we have to work all together to save our planet and our lives.

Introduction to Global Warming

Nowadays, there are many problems that affect our world; one of the major problems is global warming which is became a title of many newspapers, magazines and news. I’m going to talk about global warming causes and my opinion about it.

In the atmosphere, there is a thin layer that helps to protect the earth, temperature, balances of air, water and also to save our life. This layer affected by Carbon dioxide, water vapor and methane that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up. Burning fossil fuels such as coal, gases and oil contribute to increase Carbon Dioxide because we use it to transport by cars, trains, aircrafts, and est. and to get electricity. Also clearing forests helps to increase the level of Carbon Dioxide in the air.

On my opinion, global warming is a serious problem. So, we should work together to solve this issue to save our life and our planet. For example, we can reduce the number of cars, planting trees, encourage people to use other ways to move by use bicycles, Sledge and walking.

My bio and purpose

My name is Akram Hasan Mohamed. I was born in Abu Dhabi in 1987, so I’m 21 years old. I'm a one of the paramedic student in Abu Dhabi Men College. I have finished the foundation year. Now it's my second semester after foundation. After finishing my studies I’ll join to Abu Dhabi Police to help my country by save people's lives. My favorite hobbies are walking, travelling and playing chess.

One of my purposes of this blog is to warn the people from global warming. In the future, global warming will be the major earth problem. There are many causes and effects of this problem. One of main causes is Carbon Dioxide that comes from many sources such as cars, aircrafts, factories...EST. These can affect environment and the ozone layer which is protecting the earth from harmful radiation. Also there are many solutions people can use it to keep the earth safety like using fossil fuel, decrease the number of the cars, encourage and use public transport, put strict lows for factories and violators.
